Pohutukawa

New Zealand blippers will immediately recognise this isn't the usual time for Pohutukawa trees to flower.

They line the coastline in the northern part of the country and often bloom around Christmas. This is in a sheltered north facing spot at my parent's neighbours and maybe that helps. Maybe it's confused or is a special early flowering variety. I've seen one other flowering nearby.

Pohutukawa flowers are my favourite so I'm pleased to see it :-)

Thank you for yesterday's comments on the cheeky seagull. Today I'm less sore than yesterday. I managed a walk but definitely no running.

Off out to dinner at the neighbours tonight so will back blip tomorrow.
