Black Swan

Strange day today overcast and warm with blue sky everywhere but where I was.

I popped down to a local park just for a wander. Last time I was down there the lake was full of Canadian Geese but today there were only Mallards without ducklings and the odd Black Swan.
Nothing very interesting, no reflections and everything was green, green and more green so a head shot of the Black Swan with a lovely red beak. It seems the beak turns red at approximately 5 months of age.
Daughter E and I have discovered where our Black Swan family and the 4 Cygnets are living - perhaps we will blip them soon. The cygnets are starting to lose their down coats and are starting to be more like the ugly duckling stage.

Monday tomorrow and a public holiday here in NZ. Traditionaly this is the time people are preparing their gardens ready for Summer, lots of vegetable planting for salads to go with those wonderful barbequed meals.

We just had another aftershock 4.8, hmmmm they don't seem to be going away!

Enjoy the weekend :)
