"Family outing"

Friday
This is the name give to this sculpture alongside the sidewalk/bike trail at Pfeiffer Park in Montgomery. Interestingly enough we found exactly the same sculpture alongside the T. J. Evans bike trail near Newark Ohio earlier this year. "Lifting the human spirit through sculpture" are the words at the head of Gary Lee Price's web-site. The 50-year-old sculptor has been sculpting professionally for over 25 years and now resides in Springville, Utah. His works are included in public and private collections in homes, galleries, museums, libraries, corporations, cities, and educational institutions throughout the world. One of the largest libraries in the world, the Hong Kong Central Library, has recently acquired twelve Gary Lee Price life-size bronze sculptures. As you can see from the photo it was a lovely sunny day, and I should have loved to go walking in the park, but since we are going away for the weekend, I decided I should get some more serious exercise in, so I went swimming at the "Y" - 54 laps! This evening we were up at Miami University watching Laura sing with the Choraliers, the Women's Chorus, who were giving a concert together with the Chamber Singers, a smaller, more select mixed group of singers. The two choirs will be doing a concert tour in Scotland and Ireland next May, which she is very much looking forward to, as she has never been to either.
