Settling Down

Seen Better Days!

This is a very old water trough in the grounds of the farm that we live in. Made me think of all the years that it has supplied water for all the animals.

We have lived here 11 years and have watched the farm buildings (and the original farmhouse) slowly falling apart.

Our landlord is unable to get permission from the local council to rebuild as the farm property has been unlived in for too long. Can you believe it. We know that he would make a wonderful job of it too.

Today has been a very busy day, especially for me! We were offered 61 paving slabs and 15 breeze blocks for nothing. Well, you just cannot refuse an offer like that, can you.

So, off we set to collect them, and because Alan is not in the best of health, guess who humped them - both onto the trailer, then off the trailer!! I now know where each and every one of my old muscles are in various part of the old body!! Hahaha.

I have loved every minute of it, I do love physical exercise, but not the sort when running in a gym or out on the road, but anything that requires lifting, shoving, heaving, or throwing around the farm.

As you can tell, a much much better day today.

Thank you all for your lovely comments yesterday. You will soon find out that is the way Linda'a life goes.
