Scribble

Very heavy hoar frost today, winter wonderland. I had photographed some really pretty iced roses in flower but felt rebellious and decided to blip something completely different! The tangle of branches reminds me of a good scribble!

I was lucky enough to have a Christmas lunch today in front of a blazing log fire at a pub not far from here. There were twelve of us and we made the best of it in this bitterly freezing weather. Poor old boys at home had to make do with Cumberland pie and peas!

On a more serious note, hypothermia is coming closer to home - an elderly man had passed away in the night in his little house up on the ridge the other side of the village. It is so important to keep warm. Most of us here are not accustomed to such low temperatures.
