Beauty Along The Roadside

The sun shone today and our Summer returned from 'walkabout'. Blue skies, gentle breeze and lots of warmth - it felt good!

Spent most of the day out with Daughter A - we had a lovely time shopping for my little niece (5yrs) and nephew (3yrs). There were many recollections of childhood from Daughter A as we looked around the toy shops - fun time :)
After the toy shops we hit the garden centre buying some annuals to put in the garden for Summer - I'm a little late, this should have been done at the start of November but better late than never and I managed to find some plants which are flowering. Daughter A has offered to plant them while I put the Christmas groceries away - shes so helpful. We had a wonderful day together :)

This is a weed from along the road, as we had a little stroll. I'm not good at naming weeds, so no name for this one but it really appealed with its beauty, colour and form.

Thank you for the lovely comments regarding yesterdays blip of the Black Swan Family.  I'm expecting the cygnets to stay until February when they will be 6 months old but they may leave earlier. Its always surprising seeing them on land as they look so much bigger than on the water. It will be interesting to see when Mum and Dad will leave them entirely alone and if we will ever see them turn completely black before heading away. They are meant to return in two years time to breed but we won't recognise them by then.

Friday tomorrow and then the weekend, wow - time just keeps on rolling on, hope your having a great Thursday :)
