Swimming Against The Tide

Restful Sunday

You know how it is, you're fast asleep on your favourite piece of cardboard, having wonderful dreams of chasing mice and dining on prawns, when some daft human starts waving some grey thing in your face! Despite all your best efforts to stay asleep, your super-sensitive ears pick up the noise of a zoom motor coming towards you! You don't want to move just yet, but your nose starts to twitch and your eyes open just the tiniest of tiny fractions to see what might be going on!

Sorry Dexter, but you looked SO cute, I couldn't resist!

So, it is a typical restful Sunday. Felix and Tiggy out and about (or more likely asleep on the mattress in the garage), Pebbles asleep on her favourite bit of mat, Smudge asleep under the dining table, Dexter asleep on his favourite bit of cardboard (why do cats like cardboard so much?), the Wonderspouse tapping away on his netbook, and me sitting on the floor surrounded by folders, dividers, hole punch and a pile of maths papers, books and so on - setting up the files for the new courses I'm just about to start!

The video is playing the last few episodes of Silent Witness in the corner, the joint of lamb quietly cooks in the oven, we eat a small salad for lunch, and later on there will be a bath, a book, and a leisurely evening on the sofa.

And so tomorrow, we will embrace the new start to the week with energy, having had a restful weekend. There is admin to be completed, practice to be done, maths to be studied, exercise to be taken, and so on.

But I'm not scared of any of it now!

Life is good!
