Day by day

Night light

I've been meaning to take this for ages. It is a gnarled cherry tree which bifurcates into two stems at the bottom, they grow out, and then magically come in again to cross at the top. From the correct position in the park, you can stand and see the towers of the Trafford Centre in the diamond created by the crossed tree trunks.

I've still not got a good blip as the light can be somewhat orange if there is any cloud cover and the smoke from the intervening factories tends to dance about in the way. You also have to stand well back, as there is an avenue of trees behind the cherry which closes the view of the diamond as you get closer. It's a tremendous surprise when you see it as you walk past, but what to do with the effort of doing the work?
