Jess & Molly Law

By jml

Lonesome ...

First, Molly went to the obedience class. Once upon a time, Mrs jml used to take both; but Jess barks so much that eventually she was left behind. Jess does not seem to object to this arrangement - and since Molly gets to meet all the other doggies (and be the star of the show!), she likes it too.

Unfortunately, Molly is limping. Yesterday, we thought she was OK to go on the long Leven Beach walk, but it seems to have been too much for her. The vet says that it is a touch of arthritis, and to rest her whenever it gets worse.

So today, just Jess is going on the post-class beach walk. This leaves me to take Molly on the much shorter trot along to the Post Office to pay the bills and collect the newspapers.

At first, Molly pulled on the lead - she obviously thought that she was going to catch up with the others who had left just a few minutes before. When it was clear that this was not going to happen, she quickly settled and walked happily by my side.

When we got to the PO, I tied her up to the hitching-post. She obviously knows that she is about to be left alone (even if only for a short time). But no complaints, no whining. She really is a most contented creature.
