Abners Head

The dark forested hill in the background is called Abners Head because, it is said, a 19th century shepherd of that name used to sit up there watching over his flock. That was before fences, pine plantations, rampant gorse and fields of golden grain. Now the hill is topped by a telecommunications station. I wonder what Abner would have thought of that.

Nice in large.
