Festoons

I usually subscribe to the edict that you get what you pay for and good quality usually costs a little more but its worth it. In fact almost everything that I have ever bought thinking that's a good bit cheaper than the brand I set out to get, turns out to be a slightly odd fit, breaks or shrinks at the first wash.

With this in mind, I was tempted by my electrician, and if you saw him you would see that's not easy, to buy these 'Festoon' lights. These are the modern version of the traditional Festoon, with new low voltage, low energy, cost efficient lamps, but they are a lot more expensive.

The trouble is that they are actually, RUBBISH. The light they give off can only be likened to a dim candle light, rather than the quite bright but fragile traditional light bulb.

So these have been removed from site, replaced by old style bulbs and the guys are happy they can see again. This set are destined to be returned to the supplier with a strong request for a refund.

Rant over.
