Squirrel---of some sort!

This little squirrel is one of the newer residents of our park. I have only been seeing him for the last month or so and then, infrequently. He is noticeably smaller than our common, ordinary squirrels and distinguished by the white ring around his eyes. If you know what squirrel family he belongs to, please let me know.
