Thai Chi

Gunfire was heard throughout the night, breaking our sleep for the most part (selfish bastards), and has continued into the day. Something I?ll not get used to. There?s still nothing for us to worry about in spite of any media messages about gunfire in Ma?adi. Its purpose is to deter looting and clear streets. For the most part it works (as Hammer, Drew and I discovered first hand yesterday). The area continues to be policed, to good effect, by gangs of locals wielding knives, guns, bayonets, sticks, hammers....walking poles! They are cheerful enough when we make our trip to the local shops but encourage us to return home ?yalla.?

In Other News
A small group of the prosperous Asian community take to the streets to perform Thai Chi as means to calm their ying and yang. Beyond that we?ve heard various rumours about being deported, schools being closed etc. Stay calm people. Ride the storm
