What Might Have Been

This is a helmet signed by Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly of the Buffalo Bills.

How fitting a tribute might be to the Bills, the day after the Green Bay Packers won their fourth Super Bowl. The Bills were the first and the only team to have ever reached the Super Bowl four consecutive years, beginning in 1990. They were a powerhouse.

Unfortunately, they lost all four games. Their fate was sealed in the big games, in my opinion, when in the waning seconds of the first game against the New York Giants, behind 19-20, Scott Norwood missed a 47-yd field goal to lose the closest SB game in history. Bills fans will never get the words,"wide right" out of their nightmares.

They then lost to the Washington Redskins and twice to the Dallas Cowboys.

Hall of Fame inductees produced by that awesome team, beside Kelly, included receiver Andre Reed, defensive end Bruce Smith, offensive tackle Kent Hull and running back Thurman Thomas.
