A slice of Lesley's life

Most of Friday morning was spent making Chinese food with Anna's class as part of their Chinese New Year topic. Probably not the place for experimenting but now that me and A knew how to make spring rolls and as we had lots of spring roll pastry left over it seemed the obvious choice for Saturday tea. Anna was clearly paying more attention than I was and I was consigned to the grown-up job of cooking with hot oil only.

Carl left early this morning for a stag weekend in Barcelona that includes a football match at the Barca stadium, poor thing.

Me and the kids did the usual Saturday morning homework / dance classes thing and then headed off to Westfield for an afternoon of lunch of Tangled at the cinema. By happy chance we bumped into some local friends who all joined us for lunch and half of whom came to the cinema. A welcome surprise and further endorsement of our decision to move closer to them.

Back home the kids played for a while leaving me in peace to have some more reading time before deciding that what they really wanted was another film. Fair play to them, they put a lot of effort in, producing posters, tickets, vouchers to pay for the tickets and finding sunglasses in lieu of 3D glasses. Refreshments were the pictured salmon spring rolls. Very enjoyable film, Sky High, and a lovely end to a very lovely day.
