Black-capped chickadee enjoying the thaw

My supply of peanut chips has reached the bottom of the bin, so today I treated the birds with sunflower chips. Maybe this fellow is contemplating which treat is more to his liking.

Our thermometer soared to 48 degrees today...almost unbelievable, as most of our weather since Christmas has been way below the freezing mark. There were scads of people in the park enjoying this climatological turn-around. Supposedly we are to get more warm weather this week. I'm not going to complain about warmer, but dirty, slushy snow is definitely not my thing. There's not much I can do about it though. It is what it is! And the birds seem to like it.
