Pivotal Events

My mom and I went to the opera this afternoon and saw Nixon in China - a very long and not very enjoyable opera about Pat and Dick Nixon's visit to China in 1972 which, looking back, was a pivotal point in history.

My mind wandered to other pivotal events happening now - the events in Egypt, the Sudan and Tunisia. I wonder how we will look back on them in 30 years?

We all just go about our lives - most of the time it's pretty mundane like a Sunday afternoon at the opera. But every once and a while an event happens which changes everything.
