They Belong To General Henry Maryn Robert

He was a US Army Engineer officer of Huguenot descent born in May 1837. Led to the study of parliamentary law over a number of years by experiences in civic and church organizations, he published the first edition of Robert's Rules of Order on February 19, 1876. After he retired in 1901, he spent the last decade of his life working on parliamentary procedure.

The most extensive revision was in 1970, which was overseen by Sarah C. Robert who was the daughter-in-law and Trustee and Henry M. Robert III grandson of the General. Roberts Rules of Order Newly Revised was released that year and has been updated once every decade since.

My first copy was garnered in 1987 when I was elected to my first term as president of my local union. This blip is of the Tenth Edition from the year 2000.
