Misty View of Paris

Today, on a rainy and misty afternoon, we visited the Petit Palais in Paris. This blip looks east from the main floor, with the Champs Elysées through the trees on the left, and the Obelisk and the Grande Roue in the distance, on the Place Concorde. Worth viewing LARGE.

The attraction was another excellent exhibition of photographs, entitled "Reporters sans frontières", with 100 images by Pierre and Alexandra Boulat. They traveled the world, seeking especially situations of conflict and injustice. They were father and daughter, close in spirit, but as far as I can tell they never worked together. Pierre died in 1998 at 73, and Alexandra in 2007, torn away at 45 by a ruptured brain aneurysm. Her images from zones of conflict and war, especially, are incredibly powerful.

The lovely street lamps in the foreground are pretty much those you find throughout Paris.

A year ago I had the chance to blip Notre Dame from a somewhat unusual viewpoint.
