Rebus and Rankin

Arden Street at night (from my kitchen window). Thought it looked quite atmospheric and Arden Street IS the home of Insp John Rebus.

It was a day of sadness thinking about friends in NZ and the terrible disruption of the earthquake in Christchurch. Last April I spent the night in the YHA hostel that is now a pile of rubble and I visited the Cathedral. It is so sad for all these people who have lost friends and relatives. Luckily all my friends are ok.

In the evening it was off to the Ghillie Dhu for the National Theatre of Scotland's performance, 'The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart'. And who should be in the audience, 2 tables in front, Ian Rankin, Rebus's creator. Well this is 'Embra' after all. did think about letting him know I was blipping Arden Street but decided he's probably rather enjoy the play.

It was absolutely brilliant - very funny and great fun. And the venue is amazing - a really good performance venue and with the company of Stephnie and Lesley (and a couple of bottles of rose ) it was a great way to spend a Tuesday night.
