Three!

Yesterday may have been the big 365 blip but today is a far more important date in the blip calander, for today is Toddlers third birthday.

The day started better than well. Baby had put a new entry into his top five sleeps ever, last night with an amazing one wake up night. This meant that we were fairly refreshed, as knackered parents go that is, at wake up this morning.

Toddler woke a little early shouting for us, full of excitment. Wife went in to her for a bit before bringing her and Baby into our room for present opening session number 1. To be honest she was so happy with a small Peppa Pig notepad she opened first I think she would have been happy if that had been the only present she had got.

We decided to split her presents into small groups in different rooms of the house so that it did not get too overwhelming. So after breakfast and present opening sessions 2 and 3 she was really enjoying her day. She was really good at playing and appreciating all her gifts which was lovely. This meant that most of the morning had gone by the time she got her final gift, a play house to share with Baby.

She loved the house when she saw it, though when she saw a tiny insect in it she decided it was a bee and had to leave and would not go back in the house, until I turned it upside down and asked the insect to leave.

We then all wandered down along the beach to the Royal Marines Museum for lunch and then a run around in the grounds. I showed toddler how to make a clock dandelion fly around when you blow on it and after a little practise she became very good at it.

I recently was bought a reflector for my birthday and took it out for a spin today. I used it when taking this shot of Toddler. At first she found it a bit bright but once she was reminded about the dandelion she seemed to be fine. On these results I will be taking this toy out again.

We then had a play with the Gorillapod, I also got for my birthday, and got a nice family shot of us all for once. I would like to get a family shot of us all every year on both the little ones birthdays for their future reference.

Whilst at the museum we met an old marine who was visiting for the day from Yorkshire. He was 93 and had been there for a time in 1941 when the barracks were barracks and not luxury houses. He was the fittest, quickest, 93 year old I have ever seen. He walked everywhere and shot up the steps, it must have been all that Marines training.

We wandered back along the beach towards home for a birthday dinner of macaroni cheese (Toddlers favorite). We briefly stopped for an ice cream only for the old marine to charge on past us on foot again.

Another big day tomorrow so best get some rest.

At bed time toddler told me she had had a lovely day, you know what, I think we all did!
