Sgwarnog: In the Field

Crowned Crane

Returning from a week's holiday near Bridlington today we stopped off at Lotherton Hall to break the journey and to make it feel like we were still on holiday.

We hadn't visited before, it being just beyond the range of our normal day trips, but it looks like it is well worth exploring further. We walked through the bird garden, and had a quick look at some of the other gardens.

I much prefer to take pictures of birds and animals in the wild, but this Crowned Crane is majestic, so I couldn't resist. It's in a walk-through aviary, grouped with other birds characteristic of an African wadi.

Over the next few days I'll work through the last week's pictures and catch up with back blips - expect plenty of coastal East Yorkshire.
