A time for everything

Saturday
The weather was rather unsettled today, though not as wet as I was expecting, and so we did manage to fit a bike ride in this afternoon in between showers. We started from a couple miles south of Corwin on the Little Miami trail, and I cycled a little over 17 miles - Roger did 20 (return). It was pretty quiet on the bike trail - I think the forecast had frightened most people off. It not only stayed dry for our ride, but it brightened up and we even had a few glimpses of sun. We had a bit of a start at one point when 2 or 3 turkey vultures who had been feasting on some "delicacy" just at the side of the trail, but out of sight, suddenly took off as we passed. They're big birds when you're up close, and  they caused quite a commotion! We also came across a wildlife refuge, which we've cycled past numerous times before without realizing there was a path through the hedge from the trail to a path round a wetland area covered with water lilies. We didn't venture very far, as we hadn't taken the padlocks for our bikes, and you couldnt take bikes into the reserve - so that's something for another day.
