St Clair - Dunedin

Hubby and I spent the morning beside the sea at St Clair. The weather was coolish with a surging sea.

A scene I'm not used to, walking an esplanade with the sea crashing against the wall, a few surfers having what I call a 'short' ride before they're before the wall, children screaming and running with excitment as the sea came closer with huge amounts of 'whoosh' - so different to tramping through pine trees, over sand dunes and hearing the roar of the sea long before seeing it, then coming out onto a long huge beach with so much sand, logs and no rocks. Hubby and I lunched in a little cafe beside the sea :)

After lunch we then visited some relations on Hubby's side of our family. It was so nice to catch up over a coffee. We had planned on going to the Otago Early Settlers Museum but found it was closed for rennovations - Hubby was a little disappointed, it will be on the plan for the next trip.

Daughter E and her friend V spent time in the city exploring and being very independant. They had fun at the Cadbury Wearable Arts last night while Hubby and I had a meal out.

All in all a great day :)
