Best 'til Last

Today was a day of such unrelenting greyness it's hard to believe this was the sky at sunset. I already had a grey picture of a depressingly grey prison wall shot against a flat grey sky and was just about to post that when I noticed the buildings over the road begin to glow that orange you see here. If it's not f0r the fact that we're looking west I'd say this was a pretty good impersonation of the Northern Lights going over the Trossachs. Or something Close Encounters-ish.

Two unexpected sunsets in a row, two appearances from Willy Wallace's Monument too. It's difficult to point the camera in any other direction when this is going on though.

Took the opportunity earlier to get in the first bike ride of the winter (OK, it's still August, but it felt like October at least) but gave up after less than five miles when the wind picked up, it started to rain and my fingers went numb.

So that'll be the weekend then (no Bank Holiday tomorrow either). I'm sure weekend hours go faster than weekday ones.
