A welcome latecomer

Despite the storm and the high winds of the last 24 hours, this stunning clematis flower has opened and is making a bold statement to the world. This is the first flower on the plant this year. Like nearly all our other clematis I thought this one had died after the bad winter.

In the rest of the garden, the herbaceous border is wrecked and will need a bit chopping down and tidying job.

I cried off a pre-walk today because of the rain and high winds, but we are doing it tomorrow. There are only so many days left when we can get the walks fitted in.

PS Had my hair cut today - really like what the new hairdresser if doing. Tres chic!!
