Some days, you know exactly what you want to blip. There is something special going on and you know that it will make a good photograph. Some days you are just plain lucky - and you're in the right place at the right time to catch something that just ticks all the boxes.

Most days, you just squeeze in a chance to take a picture at some point during the day - and you just hope when you come to look at them later, there is something there that is blippable. The decision about what is the best of your pictures usually involves a bit of help from a loved one - because by this time, you are the other side of a glass of wine and you have lost the ability to know what's good and what's not so good.

Today came into the 'most days' category and so - out of a choice of - a seagull on the River Kent, a nasturtium, a (rather distant) view of Kendal Castle and a Japanese anemone, I give you .......................
