Marjorie's ramblings

What is it about group photos like this one?

Today was our last day in Melrose. People had various plans, with quite a few becoming tourists and going in different directions. The "Terrific Ten" went on a walk through the woods, back by the river and by Abbotsford. It was a rather grey day with a bit of drizzle, but the woods were glorious with lots of autumn colour and fungi at every turn.

Our hotel was the Waverley in Melrose (check TripAdvisor before booking there) and in the gardens is this stature of Sir Walter Scott. There is a connection for us because he used to come to Gilsland on holiday and proposed at the Popping Stone by the River Irthing.

But what happens to people when you decide to take the group photo? I don't suppose I have to try to answer; you just have to look at this image to see. We have a great day and lots of fun and laughter.
