Kowhai leaves

In another week or so this Kowhai will be covered with it's distinctive yellow flowers. It's a favourite native with many New Zealanders and birds.

The buds can wait for flowering. I liked the backlit leaves today their delicate veins translucent in the late afternoon sun.

No exercise for a change, unless you count helping the hunter's neighbour plant around the new duck pond. Plenty of relaxing and that's a good thing. I have a feeling there will be rugby later and I reckon I can cope with that too.
