Wreckers yard

It's been a long time since I've been to the local wreckers yard. I happened to pass by on an errand just before they closed and asked if I could have a wander.

All those car bodies stacked on top of each other. I kept a healthy distance though I suspect they just bump and bounce rather than fall off. I wasn't prepared to test my theory.

These puppies were my favourite. A blokey type can confirm/correct for me that they're shock absorbers. Another theory. Our homes and buildings should have big versions of these under them.
