Sunset Strand

The sunset was amazing tonight. This is the view down the Strand from outside my office.

I walked from there to the Barbican to see Andrew Bird, an American multi-instrumentalist. He's an amazing whistler. It was only when I returned home that I discovered that he was the whistler for Walter's performance in "The Muppets" movie. If you've seen the film, you'll know the whistle. Here's Andrew Bird whistling, singing, playing percussion and violin at the Barbican: Near Death Experience Experience. The second experience is because he's imagined someone experiencing a fairground ride called 'the Near Death Experience', taking the mickey out of large rides at theme parks (like Nemesis and Oblivion) when you aren't really going to die, but are just going to be a little queasy at the end of it.

The concert was a little unusual in that Andrew Bird played his entire new album from start to finish since it was released today. The album is fab!
