Outdoor concert

Monday
Today was Labor Day - National holiday - kind of marks the end of summer over here - the outdoor pools in our area close this weekend. So after breakfast outside, Roger and I went for a last swim at the outdoor pool before coming back to a cookout, then taking Laura back to college. This evening there was a classical concert in Blue Ash Towne Square given by the Blue Ash and Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, a local semi-professional orchestra. The first part of the concert featured three young artists, two pianists and one percussionist. The one pianist is from our local school district, and she is only 12 and she played a movement from a Rachmaninov piano concerto - she was amazing. The last item on the concert they were joined by the Cincinnati Brass Band and they performed the 1812 Overture, featuring the bells from the carillon in the photo. It was a great evening for being outside, as fortunately the weather doesn't know its supposed to be the end of summer and its still really hot - a bit too hot during the day maybe, but great in the evening. Good weekend, back to the routine tomorrow!
