Nor'Wester over the Rakaia

Another trip South and back today meant more crossings of the Rakaia and Rangitata. Both braided rivers were running milky blue under the hot summer sun.

As we crossed the Rangitata just outside Peel Forest, the temperature was 27C, and by the time I took this as we crossed the Rakaia bridge it was a couple of degrees warmer still, the Nor'Wester blowing its hot breath across the Canterbury Plains. Summer is most definitely here...
