The accidental finding

Give us a ring...

I popped out to Tesco's and the park at lunchtime. (Keen readers may have spotted a recurring theme here). Afterwards I went to check out the swans and cygnets in the park. The three 'babies' have only a few brown feathers left, and their parents are totally ignoring them. In the normal course of events, their parents would have chased them away by now, but as these swans are only semi-wild, they would not know where to go. In due course, the team who manage the park and promote biodiversity will take them away to a new watering hole, and the breeding cycle will begin again.

The same birds that were perched on the ice shelf last Tuesday https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2004299818297462662
were back in the water this week, and one or two sitting on the fence. The life ring is there to aid people drunk or otherwise confused enough to fall in to the or lake or adjacent river.

Now I must go and watch My Beautiful Laundrette on DVD. I'm trying to cut down on multi tasking, because it addles the brain, apparently. Mine's so addled already that I wouldn't know...

PS does anyone know exactly what type of bird this is?
