After the Fire

Today I have been to the area of Marysville devastated by a bush fire a few years ago .  Most of the buildings were burned and the forest was left stripped and blackened.  Today, the foliage is recovering and the town rebuilt but there is still much evidence of that terrible fire.  Many trees are completely burned, large numbers of black fallen trunks and some still standing but no life evident..  Others carry on but their trunks are scarred and black.  In this image I have tried to convey the devastation and recovery with the camera movement.

It is a charming place which I had visited prior to the fire, and it was both saddening to see what had happened but heartening to see how a community and landscape can recover.
