New arrivals!

Back at Coppice Pond this morning at the end of our usual early Thursday walk. The young swan arrived majestically against the feeding station but I didn't want to repeat my photo of two weeks ago.

Two geese suddenly took to the air further up the pond and landed in front of us. They were Greylags and at first we thought it was our old fiesty Greylag that had found himself a mate but it was soon clear that these two were quite a bit slimmer and smaller.

A gander and his diminutive mate we think. They were lovely to see but the swan didn't seem too impressed and did his best to chase them away. Life on the pond can be very dramatic. No ducklings or goslings yet but should be soon.

Looking forward to our termly get together at Chaplins tonight. Nice to catch up with friends other than at a funeral!
