AND THEY'RE OFF!

Despite what the weathermen told us last night, the day dawned bright and sunny, although Mr. HCB said that when he went out to the greenhouse early this morning, there was a light frost!

So these two have "gone on their way rejoicing" because the cricket season has now started - actually it started yesterday, but both Keith and John were at church, and never go on a Sunday anyway.

Lunch and drinks are in the rucksacks, together with anoraks, fleeces and scarves - and, of course, large hats to shield them from the sun - I just hope that Mr. HCB has remembered to pack the sun cream!  Even if he has, I doubt he will remember to use it - and will come home with a very red nose!

I hope they have a good day - I am off out with my friend, Caroline, and decided that this would NOT be a fasting day - well, you never know what lovely cakes will be on show at Balula.

It looks as if the weather is going to deteriorate as the week goes on, but I just hope that Mr. HCB and Keith have a great day today, sitting in the sun watching cricket, meeting up with old friends and generally enjoying themselves.

Looking at these two, you would never guess that their combined age is over 150, would you?

          every short equals an opportunity,
and every wicket is an obstacle."
