An ordinary life....

Artist Impression...

Of our new garden room and kitchen.  So amazing to see it brought to life rather than looking at flat paper plans.

Spent all afternoon at the kitchen place with Helen, the kitchen designer tasked with meeting all our needs, especially Alan's, going over and amending her plans and looking at a million samples of everything - doors, handles, granite, spashbacks, taps, wood etc etc.

Finally, after three hours of humming and hawing, we have narrowed everything down to a choice of two and she has given us samples to ponder over.   Thankfully no final decisions needed to be made today.

David surpassed himself by making bold suggestions about things, only for me to shoot him down in flames then have to eat humble pie when Helen changed the design to include his ideas and they were fab!  In future I shall hush my mouth.  Of course by the time the work is done, the story will be they were my suggestions all along, and David's memory is so bad, he won't be able to argue.  Tee hee!

Helen, also gave us the brochure of the original design she showed us on her laptop just over a week ago and although we've made lots of changes to the materials used in the kitchen, the layout and configuration are the same.  Once we've decided on which cupboard doors to go with and the finishings, she will update her design and give us the new drawings.  When the work has started and we are over run with builders and dust and noise and major inconvenience, I will look at this brochure to remind myself it will all be worth it in the end.

Extra photos in the new extra photos feature thingy, assuming I can get it to work!

Thirty four year anniversary.
