Brunel's footbridge at Stroud station

I spent the early part of the morning taking pictures at Stroud station.  We have a long awaited meeting with the railway authority on Friday and I want to have images which show the issues that we are concerned about.

One of them is the footbridge for pedestrians to cross between the two platforms, which is a Listed building, because of its unique situation as part of this Brunel designed station.  One of our concerns is that there is no provision for anyone to cross over the platforms if they are unable to climb stairs for any reason.  The only alternative is to go out to the car park, walk along one road, cross a busy road junction, follow a steep footpath, cross another road and then another road and eventually come to the front entrance of the station, which is a distance of at least two hundred yards.

We want a new purpose built, elegant footbridge in a more appropriate place that will allow anyone to easily gain access to the whole station and to the town centre.  But to get that will not be easy.  I hadn't intended to blip any of these pictures, but I haven shot any others today, and I don;'t want another gap in the journal.  There have been rather too many of them recently.
