Blooming

Woke up to rain again.  The boys went off to BB’s football.  I had been thinking about going along to watch, but not in the rain.  Once they were back we headed down town for some shopping, stopping off at a lovely event which was aiming to get our town “blooming”.  There had been a challenge for local shops to produce interesting planters, so for example the local sports shop had planted up a football.  The finished results were auctioned off in a silent auction.  We put in two bids – and TT was lucky enough to win his.  BB came away with some sunflower seeds and I bought a plant and then went mad at the cake stall.

After lunch and shopping, the weather was transformed and we were inspired to head to a local nursery to pick up a few more things for the garden.  TT did some planting when we came home, and I got sent out for a few more plants.  After such a dismal start to the day – it turned out nice. 

Here are the planters that were auctioned.  TT's is out of shot.  I bid for the tea tray of items - but alas I didn't get it.
