The maelstrom

I have never seen it so high.  There was virtually no beach to walk on at Merewether this morning as the waves were coming up to the bottom promenade.  There were five surfers out and one who kept trying to go out but couldn't make it.  He wound up twice down at Dixon Park but I felt happier seeing him make it to the shore.  I also saw a pod of dolphins but I think even the sea was too rough for them and they quickly left.
