Stargazing at Braemar Station, Lake Pukaki

Tonight I made a trip down to the shores of Lake Pukaki to catch up with a friend and her Mum who were renting a cottage on Braemar Station to celebrate their Birthdays.

I offered to do a bit of a stagazing tour for them, the three of us and Mrs H went down to a nice open area right alongside the lake to view the highlights of the southern sky.

Whilst the girls were sorting out the hot chocolates at the car, I decided to hang back at the lakeside and get this shot of the galactic core of the Milky Way rising above us.

Happy 40th and 70th L & R - I hope you enjoyed viewing the wonders of the night sky.
