Strange old day

It's been a funny old day. This morning, I got fed up with waiting for the insurance company, after our earlier incident, and so phoned them up. Not sure why they'd not done anything before, but they duly gave us the go ahead to sort out replacements. I got a text to phone a company that specialises in that sort of thing, and rather than waiting for them to phone me (which would probably not have been at a time of my convenience) I duly went ahead and phoned them. At that point, I was still in my dressing gown. I was still in my dressing gown two and a half hours later, after a two hour conversation (result: satisfactory) with the claims validation company and a prearranged conversation with my son. Anyway, I did get dressed before spending another chunk of time sorting out the replacement items, mainly via a well known online retailer whom we are supposed to boycott for its tax dodging activities...

Later on, I did some work, mainly catching up, and also tidied my office, disposing of two large plastic bags of shredded paper.

Finally, after the weather settled down a bit (we had hail earlier on, and sun and violent showers in rapid succession), I dashed out to find a blip. This is an area of Pilrig Park that is being "managed" to encourage wildlife. A few weeks ago, the turf was taken up and, I guess, the topsoil refreshed. We're now waiting to see what grows. Wildflowers and grasses, I guess. I thought of charting it over time, a little like Arachne's project on Grand Pont Nature Park, week by week. Let's see if anything interesting grows.
