Willows

Today was the PTA fundraising café.  I was out of the house before 8am and back home about 5pm.   It is great fun, but hard work.  We were lucky that more helpers turned up than we were expecting - more hands are always helpful.  I was the runner – as I spent the first two hours running around to different places sorting stuff out and getting stuff.  We sell filled rolls, kids lunch bags, cakes, scones, teas, coffees etc. and have less than two hours to set up before the doors open – which is a little stressful.  The really busy period is over lunchtime when it is absolute mayhem, as all the children come from school with the teachers, parents, grandparents, friends, and of course it is open to the general public.  We made over £900 – so not bad for a day’s work.  The exhaustion is worth it.

When I dropped BB off at cubs, I went for a short wander round by the river, just to wind down.  It was such a lovely evening – no wind, no rain and it wasn’t cold.  Quite a change from the past few weeks.  Fingers crossed that we get more days like this.

Here is another view of the river - near the church.  The banks of the river are very lush and verdant. The extra is a (not very good) snap of some of the fabulous home baking we had for sale.
