a lifetime burning

After the rain

The threatened thunderstorms failed to arrive, which is a shame.  I had been hoping to have a go at taking photographs of lightning, which is not something I have tried yet.

Instead, it has been very damp.  Fortunately the drizzle eased up a little and I managed to catch these shots of a visitor to the foxgloves, between showers.  I was quite pleased to get the bee in flight, although those wings are moving much too fast for the 1/200 shutter speed.  The extra is another shot, this time of the same bee exiting the foxglove.

I had a rather late night this morning, so will be commenting on people's journals a bit later on - after I've had a snooze!  Hope you are all having a good weekend.
