Wide Angle Wednesday - Close

I'm still amazed by the performance of my new Olympus camera.  This was taken with the 12-40mm lens, set at 12mm.  I can get really close - maybe 4-5 cms away from this tiny grape hyacinth.  Which does, by the by, look ever so much better in large with the black background.  There's not much distortion, but if you squint with one eye, the foreground middle of the flower does seem to be looming at you a bit.  I think.  I hope.

In extras are two images from my Mystery Macro yesterday.  It's a dome mantle clock given by my father to my mother on the occasion of my brother's birth.  As it happens exactly 52 years ago today.  The macro was of the clock spring.  Quite a few people guessed it very well.
