Garden Carpet Moth

I left the window open in the bathroom window open earlier and it seems to have acted as a nice moth trap.

This is the second carpet moth I have blipped recently, this Dark Marbled Carpet Moth showed up just below the bathroom window a couple of weeks back.

My garden is not just pretty good for birds, the area is pretty good for moths too. I have seen pretty much all the common hawkmoths around here, an it seems pretty good for this species too. According to my Moth book, they are from the species Larentinae. So now you know!

The hedgehog is feeding on the lawn as I type this ... only a matter of time before he (or indeed) she features I suspect.
