A view from Jeanneb

Field Poppies.

This is quite a rare sighting in this area as we have no arable farming to speak of unlike the Wolds of North and East Yorkshire. So this is my blip for today.

I'm not lying below them these are at head height in the field margins at the top of a wall in the hamlet of Ryecroft.
We had dropped down from the moor as we returned to,the village from our morning walk.

It was overcast but warm and the moor was full of flowers too.
Bog cotton of course with Thistles, Foxgloves and Willow Herb adding splashes of colour. The Ling (this is new knowledge courtesy of Kiteseeker on blip) is in flower but the heather isn't yet. There were also wild roses and a wonderful spread of Marsh Orchids growing in a protected fenced area.

I've made a compilation of some of these flowers which were the highlight of today's walk. I hope I'm right about the Ling, you should be able to see the difference in extra as they are alongside each other.

We were lucky walking in T shirts it started raining as we got back and is still doing so!
