Marjorie's ramblings

At Sofia Airport

I managed a 2 hour wander to take more wildflower photos before breakfast, then we were on the minibus for the long drive to Sofia airport. We waited anxiously to hear if our second group had managed the transfer at Charles de Gaulle airport. They had been told their flights could be changed for an extortionate fee, so the organiser booked all 12 of them as needing assistance. What brilliance.

Some of them truly needed wheelchairs, but the others didn't. (I think their walking boots might have been a give away!). Their average age would be in the high 70s. They were taken directly from flight to flight and the second flight held back for them.

At Sofia they came out through the departures lounge where I was waiting with camera in hand. They did not expect to see us, to there was much greeting and hilarity, to the amazement and amusement of airport officials.

Here is my friend G, enjoying the attention.

Home too late to blip on the day - ready for my own bed.
