The Railway Station, Richmond, North Yorkshire.

The long journey south occupied most of the day but it had to be said we didn't leave Edinburgh particularly early - 11.30am in fact. It was a good jouney back to Kent where we arrived just after 9.00pm. As we travelled south so the weather improved by the time we reached Richmond the temperatures were in the low 20s and the sun was shining. In Kent it was 20c when we arrived. Felt remarkably tropical after the past 10 days in the sub arctic!

Yesterday's blip was of a working station at Pitlochry in Scotland, today's blip is of an old, disused station in Richmond converted for community use and the home of the best scone in the UK. In addition to the cafe area seen here, there's a cinema, gallery, bookshop, bakery (where the scones are baked) butchers, micro-brewery and display boards describing the history of the building.

We visted the Station in May when in Richmond with our walking friends and had already liked the scones from a previous visit. They didn't disappoint then and they didn't disappoint today, well worth the detour off the A66 and a good place to break the journey.
